ANVC's Outstanding Care

Dr. Emily Boutilier received her training under Dr. Art Ortenburger at the Atlantic Veterinary College as part of an external rotation while completing her DVM through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Boutilier uses acupuncture as a form of integrative medicine to compliment and work in conjunction with conventional Western Medicine.  Her practice focuses on using acupuncture as a combination therapy to help alleviate pain and inflammation related to orthopedic conditions in an effort to decrease the frequency of dosing and the amount of the dose needed, of pain and anti-inflammatory medications.  Dr. Boutilier focuses on the neurophysical properties of acupuncture and pain pathways, while borrowing some concepts and treatment techniques of traditional Chinese Medicine.  She will be using acupuncture for the following conditions:

  • intervertebral disc disease
  • osteoarthritis
  • muscle/tendon/ligament injuries
